Success

"To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intelligent persons and the affection of children; to earn the approbation of honest citizens and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to give of one's self; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exltation; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived...this is to have succeeded." _Ralph Waldo Emerson_

Annual Camping Trip to Silver Lake

Okay, Okay, I may have added more pictures than I originally intended to, but I just couldn't help it.

Our annual camping trip to Silver Lake was a success! We had such a blast, mostly watching Isaiah have a blast. Ever since he was a newborn, his favorite place to be was under the trees. He can now even say tree, among the many other words he learned this week. My mom said it sounds like he just got back from language camp. I definitely think that the exertion of physical energy and the many challenges to his major motor skills played a part on the rapid speech growth he had. He can identify and say pine cone, tree, watermelon, milk, tent to name a few. Isaiah also took to mimicking us yelling at Tahoe. Since Tahoe was off his leash most of the time we had to keep taps on from occasionally wandering off, but after a few days, Isaiah did it for us, and made sure that Tahoe was always right at his side, ie.... come tah, come, come, sit, tah, sit...then he would clap when Tahoe obeyed, that was hilarious. Well, here are pictures of the highlights.
The first HOUR of camping I knew would be the dirtiest

There are endless things to put in a wagon and pull around

Enjoying some morning snuggle time with daddy

Me and my boy playing in the river

Trying to keep all three of my boys safe in the river can be quite the task

Isaiah LOVED the river, getting rocks out of the bottom, and blowing bubbles (to moms horror....do you know what kinds of bacteria there are in there!) Saved once again from giardia!

Sometimes the best place to sleep is anywhere!

Just wanted to show off my husbands awesome photography skills

Dirt is a boys best friend

Okay, so even without an axe Rob managed to find a way to hack wood
Check out my belly man! I'm the new up and coming Skaggs lumberjack

The lake was a bit colder than the river, so Isaiah stayed close to us. Check out the smoke!

Isaiah was in heaven with camp food, he got to eat things like canned green beans and sausage, box drinks etc...things he doesn't get at home :)
Okay, the next 2 are just cute, couldn't resist including them, my little explorer.

These two are inseparable!

Anybody out there ?

Me and little man

Little man and big man

And of coarse the attempt at a group shot with the timer and camera on a big rock, you can't even tell that Rob almost ate it 2 seconds before....even Tahoe cooperated
